5 Month Update and Photos

On the the next chapter of life.  The babies are all sleeping thru the night, normally from 10pm to 630am.  Usually one of them wakes up once or twice during the night, but it's manageable.  We have gone from carrying a cooler full of bottles upstairs for nighttime feedings, to being able to take them downstairs in the morning.  Personalities are definitely standing out.  Macy (still thinks she's an only child) has a serious set of lungs, she can really cry.  Maxwell spends his day trying all of his tricks to get somebody to pick him up.  He smiles, coo's, whatever he can to get somebody's attention.  Miles cut his first tooth on the bottom and another is poking through right next to it.

We went through our first round of sickness since they were born.  Both Max and Macy had ear infections but Miles hasn't shown any signs of an infection yet.  All is good for the most part.

Miss Ally Jane has had a great summer, no vacation this year yet, but she has spent a lot of time with her friends at the pool and whatever else she can get into.  I think her favorite hobby right now is Mini-Golf.  She has an extremely loose tooth on top in front.  Should come out the next day or so.

Mr. Tyler Jacob a.k.a. Donkey Boy is non-stop action.  He wants to be outside from the time he wakes up until the last kid in the neighborhood goes in for the night.  He's had tons of fun playing with his little buddies Chase and Anthony.  He starts Kindergarten in just a few weeks.

4 month old Check-up and Update

Wanted to update everybody on the Triplets plus two.  Had a Doctors appt. today for all three and things went well:

Macy Lynn:  12 lbs
Miles West:  11.5 lbs
Maxwell Louis 11.5 lbs

Plan on trying to update everybody monthly, but as you can imagine, things are a little hectic here.  We've cut their bottles back from every 3 hours (8 per child per day) to every 4-5 hours (5 per child per day).  They've decided to stretch out the night a little for us over the past couple days sleeping from 10-4 at night.  Hopefully we will have them in their cribs soon.

May Update Smith Triplets

We are surviving here at the Smith house.  It's day to day..  The little ones are sleeping about 4 hours in a row at night which is better than 3 hours.  They have all three been smiling at us for the past couple days which as parents know it is a wonderful thing when they finally give something back to you, even if it's an unintentional smile, it still counts.

They have grown considerably ove the past month, all getting over the 10lb mark.  Doctor's appointment last week Friday was good and some reassurance that they all are developing very well.  Their personalities are still the same, Macy is very timid, Maxwell is super high maintenance, and Miles is cool as a cucumber.

Ally is nearing the end of 1st grade and Tyler graduated from Pre-School and is now a big kindergartner.

Congratulations to Mindy and Bret.  Mindy made it to 35 weeks and all three babies are doing well.

Monthly Update and Photo's of the Trips

Things are going well.  Babies are all approaching 8lbs with Miles still leading the way and Max on right on his heels.  Macy is as cute as can be.  Each have developed their own personalities over the past month.

Maxwell:  HIGH Maintenance
Macy:  Very Cautious and Scared
Miles:  Cool as a cucumber

Not much sleep to be had at the Smith residence, but Andy and I are taking shifts.  He takes the 9:30 to 3:00 a.m. shift and I take the 3:00 to 7:30 shift and he gets the big kids up at 7:00 for school. We each average about 4 to 5 hours of sleep per night, so we are hanging in there.  Nicole (nanny) has been a lifesaver as I actually got to go the Museum today with Shannon Kramer and Nicole took care of the Trips.  So great to have her..  Here's the latest pics, to get a close up, Click on the Picture

The day has arrived... All five kids under one roof!

Been a crazy week.  Macy and Maxwell were discharged on Tuesday afternoon with a clean bill of health.  They are doing great here at home.  The NICU has them on a schedule to feed/change every 3 hours in which Andy and I have kept up with.  Miles made his appearance at home yesterday afternoon.  He had a difficult time adjusting to being here last night, was up most of the night.  Andy and I are taking shifts feeding / changing the babies.  Last night, he took the midnight feeding and I took that 3am feeding which gave us each 4 hours of solid sleep.  On average it takes about an hour and a half to feed all babies averaging 5 diaper changes in that time.  You should see the pile of diapers to carry down in the morning..!

Overall, we are in good spirits and the babies are doing well.  It's been such a long journey and to have all of them here is just wonderful.  It makes it easier (somehow) to get up in the night and take care of them.  We've been thru so much just to get them here healthy.  Thanks again for all your love and support.
