Good News Today!

Saw Dr. Voss today, he is very happy with our progress and he believes we going to make it to 36 weeks! Good news is that the babies time in the NICU will be short, bad news is that I can't move.. Ultrasound showed healthy babies. Back to hospital for NST and BPP and hooked up to monitor to make sure hearts are all beating.

Triplet Update

All:

I've been home since Thursday last week.  It's been fantastic to be home.  Days go by so much faster with all the activity around me at all times.  So happy to be here with the kids.  Non-stress Test today, got to see the babies and make sure they were "practice" breathing as they call it.  I was nervous that something would happen and they would decide to keep me there again.  I had Andy take my picture to replace the awful one he posted last week.  This is the first time I've had make-up on in weeks!

Thanks Again for all your support!

Day 17 Good News Today

Just got back from my Ultrasound.  All Babies were cooperating..  All passed the tests we needed to get out of here..  Waiting for the Doctors to give me the go ahead to go home.  Very excited!  Doctors seem to think I can make it several more weeks before the babies arrive.  Picked a great day to drive home in a snowstorm..

Thanks so much to everybody that has visitied me!  The flowers/cards etc. have made my stay bearable.

Special Thanks to Amy Mitchell for all the "relaxation therapy" she provided over the past few weeks.  I appreciate it so much.

Okay just saw the pic Andy posted of me which I did know he posted or took!

Does Anybody know who these Donkeys are?

First person to name these two people gets to go to happy hour with Andy today!  Good luck..

Day 10 at Good Ole Sam

Ultrasound this morning went well..  All three responding and breathing (practice) well and on schedule.  Andy brought the kids over for a surprise late night visit last night, I was very surprised and it was very nice.  Last couple days with the snow it's been a little lonely in the evenings.

Contractions have been on and off still, being monitored at least twice daily.  The Doctors ware switching my medication on Friday to hopefully even things out for me.  Next Friday they have talked about letting me go home for awhile, but we have to wait to see the results of the babies growth Ultrasound a week from today.  Maxwell is 14% smaller than Miles, and if the growth percentage gets up to a 20% difference, they will keep me here.  I also don't want to lose my private room.  Not sure it's worth going home even if I'm given the ok to do so.

Andy sent me some photo's of the babies room from home today.  Thought I would post them.

DAY 7

We have made it seven days here at Good Sam. The private room has been nice! Thanks again to all that have visited me. To those who haven't, keep in mind I will be here for several more weeks and there is plenty of time left. Thanks for all the shower gifts and all the food and sweets.

Ultrasound this morning said all babies are doing well and growing. I am having contractions nightly but they have been able to control them with medication. Both Ally and Tyler seem to be adjusting to me not being home but I miss them so much.

Update everybody soon if anything changes.

Babies Names

After major deliberations, We've come up with the names for the 3 new additions.

Baby A:  Macy Lynn
Baby B:  Miles West
Baby C: Maxwell Louis

The boys middle names are named after their grandpa's Lawrence West and Jimmy Louis (Jim L)

As a side note, we also found out the the test they do to see if labor is going to continue was positive from Monday, so I'm glad we were here and caught it early..

Day 3

All:

Thank you for all the emails and messages over the past couple days.  Reading all of the facebook post's and emails kept me busy last night.  Well rested, nurses allowed me to have an ambien last night.  First good night sleep in several months.  Contractions are still coming and going, but nothing too strong or worriesome at this time.  Doctor stopped in this morning, says we are doing good.  Ultrasound scheduled for tommorrow to check on the babies.

Andy set up SKYPE on my laptop and at home last night so I'm now able to say good night to the kids via video, which Ally and Tyler thought was cool.  I like seeing them before bed.  It's going to be several long weeks here at Good Sam.  Focused on staying pregnant for as long as possible.

First Night as a Patient at Good Sam

Came into Doctors for routine ultrasound and appointment.  Ended up on the ninth floor 6 hours later.  Will be a resident of Good Sam Hospital for the duration of my pregnancy.  As of today, I am 27 weeks.  All is ok as long as the contractions stop.  I am 1.5CM dialted and 50%.  Med's seem to be working.  Thursday an BPP ultrasound is scheduled to give us an idea of baby size/weight.  Thanks for all your love and support.

Andy's 2 Cents: First Post

Andy's 2 Cents: First Post SEPTEMBER 1, 2010
This is Andy:

Angie asked me to figure out how to create a site for her to share with everybody the next couple of years at the Smith House. We found out a few weeks back that we are expecting triplets to arrive sometime in February. For those of you that do not know what triplets are or can't believe what you are reading, Angie has three, (3), tres, III babies growing inside her.

Yes, it is quite a shock to us and we are dealing with it day by day right now. Angie has not been feeling well as you can imagine. I have attempted to carry the load for Ally and Tyler as well as help keep our house together. I don't believe I am doing a very good job, but I'm trying like Hell.. We have mixed emotions about what is facing us. On one hand we are extremely excited as we've wanted to add to our family for some time. On the other hand, we are scared, nervous, apprehensive etc. as to what is about to take place. Our number one goal is to get the three new Smith's here happy, healthy, and on time.

I plan on doing whatever it takes to attempt to keep the lives of my two kids somewhat normal during this time. Ally and Tyler mean the world to me and I don't want them to resent their parents, or their future siblings for messing up their lives. We are going to need all the help we can get.

The one thing I know we can count on is our Family and Friends to help us get through this safe and sound. I can't express how important everybody is to us. We are so very lucky to have such great parents, siblings, and friends. As far as Angie is concerned, there is nobody else I would rather take this journey with than her. She is all I could ask for in a wife to me and a fantastic mother to Ally and Tyler. This might be my last post for awhile and I am sure you will hear from Angie soon enough. Bed rest approx 11/15/2010. Somebody is going to have to sedate her
